Reuben Ott passes away at
Reuben Ott, who was the subject of a Wisconsin State Farmer story in March in conjunction with the celebration of his 105th birthday, passed away on Sept. 10. At the birthday party, he invited the attendees to a similar party in two years.
Ott was a retired northern Calumet County farmer who operated equipment on his family's Ru-Ott Farms until he was 91.
He was an area pioneer in the making of haylage and a promoter of Harvestore silos, was involved in many aspects of community service, and had a particular favorite avocation as a barbership singer.
In late spring and the early part of summer this year, a series of articles titled "Reminiscing with Reuben" was published in The Brillion News, a weekly newspaper. Each article described life episodes, activities, and business ventures that he engaged in beyond farming and raising his family.
Ott is survived by more than 130 direct descendants. Funeral services were held last weekend.
